In this post, I’ll show the return of equity of 0050 and 0056 ETF in Taiwan. I’ll use R to wrangle the data and Tableau to visualize the result.
Two scenarios are below:
- Buy in the beggining of a year and sell in the end of a year
- Buy in the beggining in 2016 and sell in 2021
The first day close price of 0050 is NT$59.6 and the last day(2021-12-13) close price is NT$142 and the dividend during these five years is NT$16.2
The first day close price of 0056 is NT$21.5 and the last day(2021-12-13) close price is NT$33.3 and the dividend during these five years is NT$8.9
The ROE is 165% and 96% respectively
By the analysis result, it’s better to invest in 0050 rather than 0056 for higher ROE.
